Description
Data sheet CD25 Monoclonal Antibody (Q22)
Background: The high-affinity interleukin 2 (IL2) receptor consists of the alpha (IL2RA) and beta (IL2RB) chains, along with the common gamma chain (IL2RG). Alone, IL2RA forms a low-affinity receptor, and IL2RB alone forms a medium-affinity receptor. While typically a membrane protein, a soluble form of IL2RA exists, arising from extracellular proteolysis. Various versions of IL2RA mRNA exist due to alternative splicing, though their specific roles are not yet understood. Mutations in the IL2RA gene can lead to interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency.
Purification: Affinity-purified from mouse ascites by affinity-chromatography using specific immunogen.
